I am not aware of what, if any actual components of these switches may also be shared with the GE’s, but could it be that we may soon be seeing a GE branded variant of these switches available at Lowe’s? The WD100+ dimmer performed similarly to the GE 12724 dimmer, with no flickering or noticeable hum when used with a dimmable LED bulb. The WS100+ on/off switch also has the same (annoying for some) short delay as the 12722 before the physical relay responds after a press. Interestingly, these HomeSeer WS100+ and WD100+ switches physically look and feel very similar to their GE 1274 counterparts – including very similar casing and screw terminals.

These new switches include the new 500 series Z-Wave Plus module sporting extended range and network-wide inclusion (NWI). These new switches appear to be manufactured by Dragontech, but have custom HomeSeer firmware that provides double-tap, triple-tap, and hold functionality for both up and down presses, as well as instant status – all via Central Scene Notification.

I’ve also posted SmartThings Device Handler/drivers, Central Scene Notification Information, and some comparison images with the GE Z-Wave switch equivalents. Power and dim level LEDs are not duplicated on the companion you’ll have to look at the master switch to see the status. This is a preliminary review of the HomeSeer Z-Wave Plus HS-WS100+ on/off switch and HS-WD100+ dimmer switch. If you’re using multi-tap, you have to tap more slowly than on the main switch or it will register a single tap.Looks just like any other decora-style switch.Provides remote control of all functions of the master HomeSeer switch.Allows for 3-, 4-, and 5-way installations. If you need automated three-way switches and you use HomeSeer hardware, this is the switch for you. My guess is a capacitance issue, but I’m far too lazy to troubleshoot it since it’s probably not fixable without an internal adjustment anyway.īeyond that, these are great switches that do exactly what’s on the tin. You get used to it, but it’s somewhat annoying. With the companion, however, you have to get used to tapping a bit more slowly.

On the WD100+ or the WS100+, you can multi-tap pretty much as fast as you want, and the appropriate Central Scene command will be sent. The only exception is a minor usability issue that I’ve noticed with these: if you multi-tap them too fast, the master only registers a single tap. This also means that the scene control functionality of the master switch is fully available from the companion.įor the most part, the switch works as advertised I have five of them installed, and I’ve not had a problem with a single one of them. If you tap the paddle, it’s the same as tapping the paddle on the master switch. The companion switch effectively operates as a remote control for the master. Note that these do not get included directly into your Z-Wave network they work via the switch they’re connected to. Please see the instructions I’m not going to describe that here.

The physical installation is identical to the switches it connects to, except that it’s wired slightly different. I have a fair number of three-way switch installations in my house, and since I want to automate all of them, this switch comes in handy.
